Frequently asked questions about the Digital Flight Logbook

What is a Digital Flight Logbook?

It is the record of the aircraft's flight legs kept in an app instead of a paper book. In Zuloo, the digital flight logbook fills in fields automatically, calculates the totals and keeps everything synced in the cloud, with offline use when there is no coverage.

Is Zuloo's Electronic Flight Logbook approved by ANAC?

Yes. Zuloo is approved by ANAC and follows the latest aviation regulations. In OFFICIAL MODE, records are electronically signed with a digital certificate and legally replace the paper flight logbook. We help you obtain the required LOA or E.O.

What does eDB mean and how does it replace the paper logbook?

eDB stands for Electronic Flight Logbook (Diário de Bordo Eletrônico). Once you register the aircraft and open the initial volume, you can already record flight legs in NON-OFFICIAL mode, in parallel with the paper logbook. When the aircraft enters OFFICIAL MODE, the eDB becomes the record valid before ANAC.

Does Zuloo work as a helicopter flight logbook?

Yes. Zuloo was designed for Brazilian General Aviation and supports airplanes, helicopters and gliders. Per-aircraft settings let the operator define how each one should be operated.

Is a "logbook" the same as a Diário de Bordo?

Logbook is the English term for the aircraft's Diário de Bordo, and that is what Zuloo records: the flight legs of the airplane or helicopter, with PDF reports in ANAC and Physical Logbook formats. The app also stores each crew member's licences, ratings and certificates.

How does managing a shared aircraft work?

A shared aircraft, airplane or helicopter, can have several crew members and administrators on the same flight logbook, with automatic sync across devices. The operator defines the aircraft settings and the Notification Center alerts each person about what happens, with up to 20 notification types per aircraft.

Is the Zuloo aviation app free?

Yes. Zuloo's flight logbook is free, with PDF reports, category TAGs and the Notification Center. Billing is per aircraft and only applies to the optional PRO features. Crew members never pay to use the app.

How do inspections work?

The same way they do with the paper flight logbook. ANAC still carries out audits and ramp inspections, and at that point the aircraft's PIC presents the logbook information requested: the PDF report covering the last 30 days of operation. ANAC has no access to additional data and cannot view the aircraft's data during the inspection; everything is presented and handed over by the PIC or the operator.

Does ANAC have access to Zuloo data?

No. Data recorded in Zuloo is protected and, just as with a paper flight logbook, ANAC only sees it during a ramp inspection or an audit authorised by the operator. Without the operator's authorisation, Zuloo shares no data with ANAC.
